There is a case of crooked nose correction, so I will explain the correction of crooked nose by looking at the case.
The purpose of the surgery is not to correct all crooked noses with a single, specific surgical method, but to identify the cause of the crooked nose and improve it according to each situation.

If there is a curvature in the bone part like in Figure B above, it can be easily corrected by performing osteotomy.
The problem is when the crooked nose occurs due to the curvature of the cartilage part like C and D. Usually, the curvature of the cartilage part is accompanied by the curvature of the septum, and if the tension is not removed by separating it from the curved septum bone at the back, the curved appearance at the back remains, so the septum cartilage must be separated from the septum bone and then the curvature of the septum cartilage must be corrected.
Only then can the asymmetry of the superolateral nasal cartilage connected to the septum cartilage be improved. Of course, it is difficult to completely correct it with this process alone, so after correcting the internal structure like this, additional techniques such as camouflage are performed to improve the crooked nose.
As you can see from the case study…

In cases like this patient, if the lower part of the nose is covered, the nose will not appear crooked. However, because the nasal cartilage is curved, the external appearance will appear crooked, as shown in the photo below.

In this patient’s case, the nasal septum was observed to be deviated in the anterior aspect, so the deviated nose was almost completely improved by simply correcting the inside of the nasal septum, and the deviated nose was corrected by additionally performing a gastrointestinal technique.
As you can see in the CT below,

You can see the appearance of the nasal septum deviation corrected before and after surgery. Please take into account that the nasal septum is still swollen in the post-surgery photos.
In summary, the correction of a crooked nose due to asymmetry of the nasal septum cartilage is corrected through the following three steps.
- Septum correction + separation of the nasal septum cartilage and the nasal septum bone
- Asymmetry correction of the lower lateral nasal cartilage
- Camouflage technique
